Typist is a program to provide you with instruction and practice
in using a computer keyboard.
If you can not touch type, Typist contains all the tutorials and
practice text you will need in order to master this skill. And if you can
already touch type, then you can use the program to sharpen your keyboard
skills, and improve your typing speed and efficiency.
Press any of the buttons in the following sections to start Typist:
Run Typist - German Keyboard
This button will start Typist, configured for a standard US keyboard.
Run Typist - US Keyboard
This button will start Typist, configured for a standard US keyboard.
Use of Typist is completely free, and the
Java source code
for the program is distributed under the GNU General Public License. The
latest version of the complete package can normally be found in the
Linux CAI applications area of Sunsite.
For help on running Typist, please read the
Typist 3.1 (Java) User's Guide, or use the online
help in the program itself.
